What materials can be cut with LPC’s fiber laser?
Our fiber laser can cut a wide range of metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, titanium, and more.
Especially effective on reflective materials like copper and brass that are typically difficult to cut with other types of lasers.
How thick of a material can your fiber laser cut?
Our advanced Prima Power® Fiber Laser can cut:
- Mild Steel: up to 1″
- Stainless Steel: up to 0.75″
- Aluminum: up to 0.5″
How accurate is LPC’s fiber laser cutting?
Highly accurate: Often achieving tolerances within ±0.005″ or better, depending on the material and the part’s geometry.
What’s the turnaround time for your laser-cut parts?
Turnaround time is dependent upon the complexity, quantity, and our workload — but most jobs can be completed within a few business days. Rush service available too.
What digital file types are required for a quote?
We require vector files such as .DXF, .DWG, or .AI. If you need help preparing your files, we can recommend design professionals.
Can LPC’s Prima Power® fiber laser cut non-metals such as wood or plastic?
No, LPC’s Fiber Laser is designed specifically for metals. For non-metal materials, our Water Jet or a CO2 laser may be more appropriate.
Does LPC offer other services like bending or welding?
Yes. In addition to cutting, we also offer forming (bending), countersinking, tapping, welding, and other fabrication Services.
Will the edges be clean after fiber laser cutting?
Yes. LPC’s Fiber Laser Cutting produces clean edges with minimal dross or burrs. Most parts are ready to use “as-cut”, although some may benefit from secondary processing — depending on your application.
Can you do small prototype runs or one-offs?
Absolutely! We handle everything from one-off prototypes to full production runs.
